Shameless is a show that has cultivated the minds of many throughout its eight seasons. It is an American comedy series about a family of six who are different in their own way, face many exaggerated and realistic struggles with an alcoholic father who doesn't care about anything. Though the show sounds horrific with its constant twist and turns most episodes end off on a positive note with the family together, indicating that no matter the struggles a person faces family will always be there to dig you out.

The Fosters

The Fosters is a family drama which started in 2013. It's story follows a lesbian couple, Stef and Lena, in their journey through adopting and fostering children. The children they have are Brandon, Jesus, Mariana, Callie, and Jude. The show revolves around the lives of the moms and the children, and the daily issues they face. Many other characters come in and out, and some cause more problems then others. This story follows this family through their ups and downs and typical family issues, as well as issues revolving around the LGBTQ+ community and the foster system as well.

Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy is a medical drama on ABC that  began in 2005 and is currently on their 14th season. The title is a slight change to the human anatomy textbook,  Gray's Anatomy , by Henry Gray . The series follows Meredith Grey, and fellow interns Cristina Yang, Alex Karev, Izzie Stevens, and George O'Malley. The interns struggle to balance their demanding work lives as well as complicated personal lives. Regarding LGBT representation, Grey's Anatomy has had multiple WLW relationships. The main, long term relationship covered in Grey's Anatomy was Calzona, between Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins. Both these characters have had other female love interests throughout the show's run. Grey's Anatomy has also had multiple LGBT patients to help represent additional identities and to increase diversity.

The 100

The 100 is a post apocalyptic science fiction drama that airs on The CW. When the earth is inhabitable because of a nuclear explosion, people resort to living in space. Now many years later 100 teenagers living in space go back to the vacant earth and try to reclaim it. Little do they know, barbaric Grounders are currently living on the ground, causing life threatening conflict. The show poses many tough moral questions and highlights the difficulty of being a leader In terms of LGBT representation, the show features the relationship between Clarke and Lexa as well as a relationship between two minor characters Miller and Bryan.

This Netflix Original Series is a story revolving around 8 individuals around the world who are connected, able to access each other's abilities, languages, thoughts, and actions. They are all unique, from separate backgrounds and cultures, getting to know each other very well through learning that they're able to communicate and through the fact that they all have something in common besides their unusually special connection: they are being hunted. Reasons why this particular show can represent the LGBTQ community is because of the main characters' identities.  Meet  Lito Rodriguez , a gay Hispanic man from Spain, famous in the acting world, but closeted to the media and his fans at the beginning of it all. He is in a committed relationship with his boyfriend Hernando Fuentes. Meet  Nomi Marks,  who was born Michael Marks, a transgender woman and lesbian who lives in San Fransisco with her girlfriend Amanita Caplan. Though there are only 2 LGBTQ charact
